A Compact is a written agreement between local statutory agencies and the voluntary and community sector, with a commitment to work together to achieve common aims.
For community and voluntary organisations A COMPACT should offer: Clearer and fairer relationships with local funders, Greater opportunities to help shape local policy, and More opportunities to meet and develop partnerships.
For statutory agencies A COMPACT should offer: Deeper, more meaningful relationships with the groups they fund, Chances to learn from community and voluntary organisations, and Opportunities to consult with a wide and diverse range of communities.
